The path to becoming parents is not always an easy one, even though society may portray it as one. My name is Gabriel Dietsch, author of "Dancing on Daddy's Shoes", a family book I wrote for Ella; my daughter - our IVF miracle. In it, I share our IVF journey with the aim that families can familiarize themselves with IVF in a light hearted way; and those facing infertility can gain a little hope while relating to the characters and our story.

What is IVF?IVF stands for in-vitro fertilization, which means the fertilization of eggs by sperm outside the body. The world's first IVF baby was born in England in 1978, her name, Louise Brown. Later, in 1981, Elizabeth Jordan Carr became the first IVF baby to be born in the United States; she was the 15th IVF baby born in the world. To date, there have been approximatively six million IVF babies born in the world, and approximately one million in the United States. So how is it that when one is going through the IVF process we feel so alone? It's time to speak up and learn what IVF is all about - and how common it is for couples to struggle with fertility and dreams of conceiving a baby.

"Children born by IVF procedure come to this world with a long journey, already behind them. This beautifully written book explains the difficulties, struggle, and determination parents go through to have the baby of their dreams. This animated childrens book is told through Ella's father's journey. The very difficult process of IVF is explained in a joyful storylike way, where dreams do come true. As a proud grandmother of an IVF miracle perfect angel, I highly recommend this book as one of your go-to bedtime favorites." - Diana Tirado
